Deep-Root Feeding/Aphid Control

Deep-root feeding is a very successful product that provides fertilization with insect control. We perform this service annually for many of our customers with excellent results in terms of increased immune system to resist pests and diseases, strengthened root system/cell srtucture, increased blooms and greener denser foliage.

Deep-root feeding a tree is accomplished by injecting liquid fertilizer 6" - 8" down into the root zone of the tree. We accomplish this via a pressurized tank system, a hand held wand is inserted into the soil where the product is released into the root zone.

A product we use on many trees in Merit insecticide. Merit has become a very popular product in recent years in controlling Aphids and many other unwanted insects. The product is injected into the root system of the tree, as is the fertilizer, and is taken up through the vascular system into the foliage of the tree where it becomes active in eliminating the Aphids and other sucking insects such as scale which cause damage to the tree. Merit is usually 100% effective and will, in most cases have residual effectiveness for one full season.

Fall is Prime Time For Broadleaf Weed Control

The best time to control perennial broadleaf weeds in the lawn with broadleaf herbicides is fall (mid-September through October). In fall, perennial broadleaf weeds are actively translocating carbohydrates to their roots. Broadleaf herbicides applied to the weeds will be absorbed by the foliage and translocated to the plant's roots along with the carbohydrates. This usually results in the death of the broadleaf weeds.
